Hear me speak about the above framework and get a taste for my work with the introductory 15 minutes of one of my virtual keynotes
Cluttered with an army of agile software development evangelists with a confusing array of competing methodologies, digital transformation case studies typically of larger corporations in service businesses like banks and retail giants, big consultancy houses with agility practices pushing out research, books and magazine articles and classical coaches, consultants, and trainers hitching their wagon to the agile train!
In the Real World, I started my career working as a Petroleum Engineer on offshore oil & gas drilling rigs and now study other Everyday Agile Leaders in the real world (Fighter Pilots, Navy Seals, Fire Fighters and others) to interpret their secrets. In the Business World I ended up running the Aerospace Division of a British public company, translating the agility secrets into business terms. In the Advisory World as an author, keynote speaker, facilitator, coach & board member, including 15 years as a CEO peer group chair & speaker, facilitating CEOs, Executives and their teams in applying the agility secrets with their leadership, teams and organizations.
Agility is the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances [VUCA] while out-executing our competition and stakeholder expectations (of customers, employees, vendors, debt-holders/shareholders). An Agility Operating System is complex which it is very easy to massively over simplify. The trick is to move through the complexity, revealing the myths, mysteries and magic of agility along the way and getting to the powerful essence of agile leadership and teamwork, from which you can then start building out organizational agility.
Smaller companies, such a startups, small-to-medium-sized-enterprises and mid-market-corporations, can easily fall into the mental trap of believing they are naturally agile, instead of which they can easily be naturally frenetic! Larger corporations can easily fall into the trap of being bureaucratic, believing they are naturally not agile. In both cases, because their leaders are stuck in what agile leaders call a "waterfall" mindset. They haven’t yet become students of agility, to truly understand what it is, how to evolve an agility operating system top-down and bottom-up, and who they need to be in the equation. Enterprise agility transformation journeys start with the individual.
These are the secrets of Everyday Agile Leaders in the real world, facing agility challenges everyday, often with life and death consequences. They have changed their relationship with these 5 key attributes of agility. In the real world, these attributes are the core focus of training and leading edge research. In the business world, when assessing the leadership challenges of agility, progressive diagnosis invariably leads to these same root causes, which can keep leaders stuck in the FRAGILE Majority unable to join the AGILE Minority. Why? Because business leaders have typically never received any training in these attributes of the agility challenge.
From the CEO top-down and every individual bottom-up,
I help your team step up to 5 new roles,

AGILE is becoming as ubiquitous as LEAN, because all organizations are realizing that, in all of its forms from informal continuous improvement to formal Lean, it is no longer enough. In addition, we need an AGILE flow, an AGILE presence as a leader and an enterprise, adding up to a bottom line of AGILE composure in the face of accelerating VUCA. Large and small companies, from startups to public corporations, high-tech and low-tech, local and global, for-profit and not-for-profit, all enterprises are embarking on agile transformation journeys to move from the Fragile Majority to the Agile Minority. Let me help you join them.
Where your conversation-flow goes, your cash-flow follows. To drive your desired trajectory of agile cash-flow, your must drive your trajectory of agile conversation-flow. In traction and avoiding wheel$pin!
"Why, despite all of our investments in our businesses (you name it, we do it), do we still experience a lot more Wheel$pin than we should?"
Agility, or rather a lack of Agility. Or rather, a lack of understanding of the whole challenge, the whole problem and the whole solution of Agility, which is a complex operating system that most people over simplify.
“Why, despite all of the Agile inspiration and insights we are now surrounded by, does Enterprise Agility remain as elusive as it has ever been for most leaders?"
The Agility Code, or rather the unbroken Agility Code. Or rather, a lack of understanding of the keys to unlock Agility beliefs, behaviors and results, enterprise wide and enterprise deep, and the reasons why only a minority can and the majority can’t.
At the intersection of my agility experiences in the real-world (I started my career working on offshore oil & gas drilling rigs), the business world (ending up running the Aerospace Division of a British public company) and the advisory world (nearly 20 years as an author, keynote speaker, facilitator, coach and board member, including 15 years as a CEO peer group chair and speaker with Vistage Worldwide) I specialize in the agility challenges of CEO and Executives running small to medium sized enterprises.
My passion is to interpret the secrets of those facing real world agility challenges everyday (fighter pilots, special forces, offshore oil & gas drilling rigs and others), translate them into terms relevant to the business world and facilitate leaders, teams and organizations creating traction with them, avoiding Wheel$pin, on their desired trajectory of profitability and growth.
I love being provocative with agile mindsets, exploring profound agile skill-sets and leveraging practical agile tool-sets, all while revealing the myths, mysteries and magic of agility in everyday ways that people can relate to.
